You’re Not the Only One Feeling This Way

The Pause: A Monthly Women’s Circle for Deep Connection, Reflection & Reclaiming Ourselves

Life moves fast. Too fast. Many of us wake up realising we’re running on empty, juggling responsibilities, caring for others, doing all the things and yet feeling a quiet ache inside for something more. More meaning. More connection. More time to simply be.

You’re not alone. Whether you’re a mother, not a mother, or growing a baby within there’s a deep, shared truth we all carry: the longing to be seen, to belong, and to slow down in a world that rarely makes space for that.

Last year, I held a 9-month closed container women’s circle, an intimate journey of deep sharing, support, and transformation. I offered so much value in that sacred space that I’ve now turned the experience into a course. But I also wanted to create something more fluid, something open to women at any stage of their journey, without the need for long-term commitment. A space to come when you want to or are able to. A space to return to, again and again.

It’s been a year since my journey to Ecuador, an experience that reminded me of the power of a real, grounded community. There, I witnessed how women still gather around ritual, story, and sacred pause. Not just in ceremony, but in everyday life. They nourish one another, listen, witness, and remind each other who they truly are.

It lit a fire in me to bring that spirit home, to create a circle, not just for a season, but as an ongoing rhythm. So I’ve created The Pause, a monthly women’s circle in Johannesburg. A place to come just as you are. No need to commit to a long journey. Just show up for one morning each month and be part of something ancient and needed.

What is The Pause? The Pause is a space where we gather, once a month, to exhale, reflect, and reconnect. It’s informal and heartful. A mix of warm teas, soulful conversation, creative rituals, and real talk with women who get it.

In many cultures, life transitions aren’t complete without being witnessed. Something softens and strengthens when we are truly seen. That’s what we do here, we hold space, not just for one another, but for the parts of ourselves that often get lost in the noise.

Together, we:

  • Slow down and listen to the wisdom of our bodies
  • Explore themes like womanhood, creativity, intuition, grief, joy, and ancestral patterns
  • Co-create rituals that honour our current season of life
  • Share stories, journaling, and practices that nourish and inspire
  • Build a village, because none of us are meant to do this alone

It’s a space where you can remember who you are, without the pressure to be anyone else.

Whether you come every month or just when you feel called, you’re welcome.

This circle is for you if:

  • You crave deeper connection with other women
  • You feel life is rushing by and want to reclaim your time
  • You miss a sense of belonging or ritual
  • You want to explore feminine wisdom, creativity, and embodiment
  • You’re in a life transition and want to be held in a supportive way
  • You simply want time to rest, reflect and fill your own cup

We meet once a month in Linden, Saturday mornings. I am open if women want to gather on a Wednesday evening, instead of or as well as. Come with your questions, your tears, your laughter, your longing. Come as you are.

Words from previous participants:

“I just loved coming to your space, Theoni, being in your presence and soaking up all the love and wisdom you so generously showered over us!”

“There was such a feeling of safety and security. All working individually and together. I enjoyed the entire process.”

“Being able to talk without interruptions and being listened to without judgement. Growing together and being part of a community. Things to use in self practice like the movements, journaling prompts etc.”

“I have nothing to say or critique on this. I loved and appreciated the whole process just as it unfolded.”

“The Pause offers a safe space and is a beautiful and gentle journey reconnecting with oneself and with nature amongst other like-minded women.”

“Join the women’s circle, it’s good for your soul.”

Let’s gather, like women have always done.

It’s time to pause.

With love,

Theoni
