The Invisible Load this season

In today’s blog, I want to name something that so many women carry at this time of year, the invisible load we women carry in December, and Christmas, if that’s what you celebrate.

So much of what you do is quietly, unseen, happening in the background. And yet somehow, everything gets done.

There’s the mental load, not just choosing gifts, but comparing prices, thinking ahead, making sure they feel right. Making sure no one is forgotten. Holding the details. Holding the people.

As I step more and more into my life as a woman, I’m realising this:
it doesn’t all have to sit on me.

It is within my power and my control, to delegate.
To ask for help.
To let go of the belief that I have to do it all.

There’s also the emotional labour, planning the food, choosing the right food.
Making sure there’s something for everyone, preferences, allergies, needs.

And then asking the deeper questions:
How can this feel a little lighter?
What can be passed on?
What doesn’t actually need to be carried by me?

Letting go of control can feel uncomfortable.
Allowing someone else to step in even if it’s not done exactly the way I would do it.

But I’m learning that letting go isn’t about carelessness.
It’s about trust.

Trusting that the world won’t fall apart if I don’t hold every thread.
Trusting that my worth is not measured by how much I carry.
Trusting that rest, ease, and support are not things I have to earn.

When I allow someone else to help, imperfectly, I reclaim something precious.
My energy.
My breath.
My presence.

And from that place, I show up differently.
Less depleted.
More resourced.
More connected to myself.

This season doesn’t need you to be everything to everyone.
It’s an invitation to choose what truly matters,
and to let the rest be shared.

There is wisdom in asking.
There is strength in receiving.
And there is deep nourishment in allowing yourself to be held too.

If this resonates, I want to gently remind you about The Pause between Years, our online women’s circle happening on the 30th, from 10 am–12. Here is the link to join, and yes, there will be a recording for those travelling and in a different time zone. I got you 🙂

A pause between the year that was and the year ahead.
A space to soften, reflect, breathe, and be witnessed.
Nothing to perform. Nothing to carry. Just room to arrive as you are.

We sent out the details last week, and if your body or heart is quietly saying yes, this is your reminder to join us.

You don’t have to do this season alone.
And you were never meant to.

Sending you all blessings this season, create beautiful memories.
