My love for creating potions and helping others began in childhood. I remember picking rose petals and gathering herbs from our family garden during the first 11 years of my life. Those early experiences planted the seeds of a lifelong passion—one that has always been about empowering women with tools to support themselves and their families.
Becoming an Aromatherapist
In 1995, I became a certified Aromatherapist, delving deep into the science and benefits of essential oils. These oils transformed my life, eliminating the need for medication when experiencing painful periods. By 1998, I started a candle manufacturing company, crafting beautiful, handmade candles infused with essential oils and fragrances. For nine years, we supplied stores across South Africa with our creations. It was during this time that I learnt more deeply about the world of fragrance, and not in a good way.
Discovering doTERRA
In 2019, I discovered doTERRA essential oils. The moment I first inhaled their scent, I knew they were pure and clean. I was beyond excited to find a company that aligned with my values. Shortly after, I signed up as a customer and eagerly awaited my package every six weeks, even though doTERRA wasn’t officially in South Africa yet.

How Essential Oils Changed My Life
I began using the oils on my family, clients, and myself. Incredibly, I managed to get through my first spring without antihistamines. My clients also started experiencing positive results and wanted to sign up. At first, I was hesitant, as I was already offering so many services and was quite busy. But I soon realised this company and these oils were bigger than me.
During lockdown, our team thrived by offering education and support via Zoom, and my business grew. These oils became an integral part of my life and practice. During that difficult time, the Adaptiv blend literally saved my son’s life. His anxiety, triggered by an earlier life event, was soothed with the support of Adaptiv. It helped him feel calmer, more at ease, and physically able to sleep better.
